Ling Fell

on top of Ling Fell - a bit of Bassenthwaite behind

5.6 miles - a few hills

with the elevation profile - Ling Fell summit is at about 4 miles

Nice after work run today with Jonathan.

We set off on the familiar route around Sale Fell but then, rather than crossing over the road at Kelswick, we carried on down and over to Ling Fell.

The track we took up Ling Fell was a nice gentle climb until we headed off left to the summit.

I tried to keep the effort levels at an easy pace for the full run but my heart rate did get up to about 190bpm at the very end of the climb.

We took a direct route back to the road, my new Mudclaws giving me lots of confidence on the steep downhill.  We then climbed along the side of the wall up to the col and onto the familiar track back to the car.

Back at the car, Jonathan got a severe leg cramp which resulted in the second expletive laden outburst in as many outings.  I tried punching his leg really hard but this just resulted in more foul language.

Luckily the walker who had just returned to their car found the whole thing amusing.
