High Rigg fell run - March 2012

Looking for a nice fell/trail run to do taking advantage of the wonderful weather we have been having.  High Rigg,   As the 210th tallest Wainwright (out of 214) and 5 meters shorter than Sale Fell, it should be very achievable.  Here is the route:

blue is the planned route, red is the actual route

real mixture of trail (flattish) running and fell running (mostly the descents)

view of Blencathra from the climb up to Tewet Tarn

Blencathra and Skiddaw

Clough Head over Wanthwaite Crags

first view of High Rigg

Summit Dorks

we ran down to the bottom of the fell, across some fields, up the road a bit, across some more fields and eventually we got back to a very recognisable place...

We had a quick pint in Keswick then headed home.
